We are meeting ourselves coming and going these days, and if WE can hardly keep track of everything we have going on, we thought maybe you could use an update too. Of course, you can always check our event page to see what we’re up to, but that’s only a piece of the puzzle.
Here’s an early summer primer (it’s technically spring, but we hardly know what that means around here) to get you up to speed:
- Our spring fund drive is still under way, to replace the Feinstein Challenge we’ve participated in in the past. Though the fund-matching challenge is on hold this year, we continue to take your donated dollars further than most, with an overhead percentage of around a mere 1%. There’s a donate button on every page!
- Staffers Holley and Naomi will be at the Modesto Christian Reformed Church craft fair on Saturday, May 2nd, doing potted plant projects with kids and spreading the word about how we grow and glean food to help serve those in need in Stanislaus county. You can find them at 2620 College Avenue from 9 am to 3 pm. This event benefits the Children’s Crisis Center of Stanislaus County.
- Our Mother’s Day flower fundraiser wraps up next weekend as volunteers wrap up blooms for pick-up on May 8th and 9th. Volunteers welcome on May 8th, all day!
- We will be selling sunflower bouquets in the parking lot of our coalition members at El Concilio. Come find us 1314 H Street on Mother’s Day, May 10th to buy a bundle of blossoms for the mom in your life, for a great cause!
- May 9th is also CROP Walk at Geneva Presbyterian Church, a fundraiser for Church World Service, which addresses international hunger. Additionally, 25% of proceeds are given to Interfaith, to help us address hunger here at home. Please sponsor or join a team, or create your own.
- Sponsorships for the Get Fit on the Green Golf Event benefiting Interfaith Ministries are due May 15th for the June 11th event at Del Rio Country Club. The folks at Get Fit are amazing people, doing big things. You should definitely check them out!
May 30th is our Deuces & Coupes Motorcycle Poker Run and Car show. Kickstands up at Mitchell’s Harley Davidson at 10 am, with the car show, music and lunch at One Church Bethel Campus around 11.
- Last but certainly not least, our Free Mobile Farmers Market will be out at Orville Wright School on Thursday, May 28, and at Franklin Elementary School on Friday, May 29. Check back for added dates, as more are being planned.
We are SO grateful for all of the cool things our donors and volunteers enable us to do. Our story is only possible because of yours. We hope you’ll join us for some of our events, and keep writing this story together.
